From 11-12 December 2024, the IBU organized this year's Material Distribution in Hochfilzen, Austria. This initiative is an important way to support National Federations, especially those in the development categories B, C, D, and E, by providing them with the equipment they need for their athletes.
Thanks to the support of 28 Supplying Partners, the IBU was able to provide equipment to 38 National Federations based on their requests, the number of participating athletes, and their development categories. The total value of the equipment was 960,000 EUR, with B nations receiving 54%, C nations 42%, and D nations 4%.
The material support included:
300,000 rounds of ammunition
265 pairs of skis
590 pairs of bindings
202 pairs of poles
121 pairs of cross-country boots
252 boxes of wax
260 arm slings
83 harnesses
1,826 pairs of gloves
and more essential equipment for biathlon athletes.
In addition to the support for the Material Distribution, Supplying Partners also contributed materials for common waxing needs, ensuring comprehensive support for all participating nations.
The IBU is committed to supporting National Federations and helping athletes improve. By providing this high-quality equipment, the IBU ensures that athletes have what they need to perform and compete at a high level. This event is another example of the IBU's continued commitment to the growth and success of biathlon worldwide.
With the help of our partners, the IBU looks forward to continuing this support and helping to ensure a successful future for biathlon.
