Frey and Lien Dominate Sprint 2 for Norway in Idre Fjall

Isak Frey and Ida Lien, both of Norway, won in the second Sprint at the IBU Cup in Idre Fjall, Sweden. The men’s 10km sprint saw Norway dominate the podium, with Johan Olav Botn and Martin Uldal taking the second and third place.

Frey wins with a flawless shooting

Frey claimed the top spot with a perfect shooting record and a time of 23:55.9, showcasing his precision and speed. Fellow Norwegian Botn secured second place with a single shooting penalty, finishing 17.8 seconds behind Frey. Uldal, also from Norway, took third place, crossing the line 33.4 seconds behind the winner, despite incurring two penalties.

THE WINNER’S WORDS - ISAK FREY

I performed well today. An early bib was an advantage in warm and wet conditions. Hopefully, I can transfer today’s form into tomorrow’s Pursuit.

Germany’s Roman Rees placed fourth with a 10/10 shooting performance, a step forward in his effort to win back the spot in the German World Cup team. Emilien Claude of France and Lucas Fratzscher of Germany rounded out the flower podium.

Lien wins with 10/10

Lien claimed victory with a perfect shooting performance and a time of 21:27.0. Paula Botet of France, the fastest skier of the day, finished second, 12 seconds behind, despite one penalty. Camille Bened, also from France, took third place with flawless shooting, crossing the line 20.1 seconds after Lien.

THE WINNER’S WORDS - IDA LIEN

My first Sprint here was terrible. I just wanted to do better than that today and focused on one shot at a time. It worked well despite the challenging wind.

Germany’s Anna Weidel finished just off the podium in fourth, France’s Chloe Chevalier, with one miss, was fifth and Siri Skar of Norway sixth.
