Emilien Claude (FRA) had the best weekend of his life in Ruhpolding as he won his first solo World Cup podium in the men's individual. During the same weekend he also won the men's relay with the super strong French team. Vebjoern Soerum (NOR) also took it to the top like a rocket as he shot clean in the same race and won his first World Cup race. The young Norwegian also had strong performances in Lenzerheide as he came in fourth in the men's sprint.
Campbell Wright (USA) was the one to watch from the start of the season as he took a fourth place in the men's relay in Kontiolahti. But it was in Lenzerheide where he truly showed what he's got as he won silver in both sprint and pursuit. To finish of the World Championships strong he was fourth in the mass start. Vitezslav Hornig (CZE) won his first World Championships medal as the Czech team came in second in the mixed relay in Switzerland. The weekend in Ruhpolding was a good one also for Hornig as he took his first World Cup flowers coming in 5th in the men's individual.
