Louise Roguet dominated the women's mass start 60. She took the lead of the field on the third lap and brought home the victory. With two shooting mistakes and the fastest time on the course, it was a well-deserved victory. After the bronze medal in the mixed relay and the silver medal in the sprint, she now has a complete set of medals in her luggage.
Lena Siegmund from Germany finished in second place, nine seconds behind. With just one miss in the first prone shooting, she showed where her strengths lie. It is the best result of her career to date, which was only decided at the finish line when she beat Ilona Plechacova. However, the Czech confirmed her good form again in the mass start 60 and was able to secure another plaque with the bronze medal. With Melina Gaupp (4th place) and Sydney Wüstling (6th place), two more athletes from Germany finished in the top six.
They could hardly believe their luck in the end. Leo Carlier, Flavio Guy and Camille Grataloup-Manissolle finished first in the youth mass start 60, securing a triple victory for France. The race was only decided at the last shooting, where windy conditions made the shooting difficult. Leo Carlier was the only one of the leaders to leave the shooting range with just one penalty loop and was not to be denied victory on the final lap. With four medals at these championships, he is already one of the most successful athletes.
Flavio Guy had six penalties, but with the second-best ski time on the day, he was still able to fight for the podium. He crossed the finish line 20 seconds behind the winner. Camille Grataloup-Manissolle rewarded himself with a medal in the last individual race of the World Championships after narrowly missing out on a medal in the individual and sprint events.
