The best part about biathlon is that there are always new athletes coming to the top! This season, we had many newcomers writing their names to the history books. But which one of these four deserves the Female Newcomer or the Season 2024-2025?

Paula Botet (FRA) won her first World Cup competition in Oberhof as she shot clean in the sprint. We also saw her at the flower ceremony in Holmenkollen as she came in fifth in the mass start. Ella Halvarsson (SWE) started her season with a bang in Kontiolahti, coming in second in the short individual and winning the single mixed relay with Sebastian Samuelsson. The crown to the season came in the Lenzerheide World Championships, where she won silver in the individual.

Oceane Michelon (FRA) kept fighting for the top spots for the whole season. In Lenzerheide she had her breakthrough as she won bronze in mass start and became a World Champion in the women’s relay with team France. At the end of the season, she took home the U23 globe. Maren Kirkeeide (NOR) secured her spot in the Norwegian top team as she had a double podium in Oberhof with sprint and pursuit second place. She also took home a World Championships medal as she won silver in the mass start.
