Ruhpolding Pursuit
One of the all-time great days of the year: Ruhpolding Pursuit Sunday! With both men’s and women’s competitions bringing the fireworks, they are featured in this final four – as if it ever was a surprise. A scintillating battle between Tandrevold, Vittozzi and Arnekleiv saw Vittozzi outpower the Norwegians on the last loop.
Soldier Hollow Pursuit
A few weeks later, Vittozzi found herself in gridlock again but this time with Lou Jeanmonnot who was in the middle of her incredible 7 podiums in a row streak. Vittozzi and Jeanmonnot both shot clean at the last standing but the Frenchwoman pushed to victory.
Kontiolahti Sprint
Did it have the thrill of a head-to-head competition? Maybe not but the sprint in Kontiolahti made up for it with feel-good storylines of Davidova returning to the top of the podium, Minkkinen claiming her first podium in her 10th World Cup season and Elvira Oeberg finally putting on the yellow bib.
ALGB Mass Start
A thrilling end to the biathlon year; in the middle of a downpour turned into snowstorm, the ALGB mass start pushed the women to their limit and young Selina Grotian seized the opportunity to claim her first World Cup victory ahead of teammate Franziska Preuss. A thrilling battle for the finish line saw Paulina Fialkova Batovska outsprint Jeanne Richard on the last meters.
