Fans voted Julia Simon and JT Boe as the Athletes of the World Championships, as they together won 5 individual Gold medals and 12 altogether as the most successful athletes in Nove Mesto. But some other athletes and teams had moments of unique glory.

Back-to-back 7/7 for Johannes

JT Boe won seven medals in Nove Mesto, the first athlete to do so twice at the BMW IBY World Championships. He also won back-to-back three individual events and equaled Ole Einar Bjoerndalen’s 20 gold medals at the World Championships. JT Boe’s win in the Pursuit was a career-first title defence at the World Championships for one of the best biathletes ever.

1-2-3 for Les Bleus

Julia Simon, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, and Lou Jeanmonnot won a complete set of medals in the Sprint, a historical first-ever podium for Les Blues at the BMW IBU World Championships.

Sprint gold for Simon and Laegreid

Julia Simon and Sturla Holm Laegreid won their first-ever Sprint Gold at the World Championships. Consequently, Simon's Sprint-Pursuit double also counts as her first at the IBU's flagship event.

Braisaz-Bouchet's masterpiece for her first individual gold

In perhaps the most outstanding performance in Nove Mesto, Justin Braisaz-Bouchet won in the Mass Start, her first-ever gold at the World Championships.

Can't miss-Vittozzi claims first individual gold in the Individual

After one bronze and two medals at the BMW IBU World Championships (including a silver in the Pursuit in Nove Mesto), Lisa Vittozzi won her first-ever individual gold medal at the World Championships in the Individual. She shot 69/70 in the four individual competitions, the best shooter of the Championships!

Sweden's first men's relay World Championships' gold

Sebastian Samuelsson and Jesper Nelin relived their memories from Sweden's gold run at the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 as the Swedish men's relay won the first-ever gold medal at the World Championships in Nove Mesto.

Maiden individual medal for Jeanmonnot, Christiansen, Hettich-Walz, Rastorgujevs

After Jeanmonnot - just like Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen - won her first-ever individual medal at the World Championships in the Sprint, she partnered with Quentin Fillon Maillet for a gold medal in what was Quentin's first appearance in the Single Mixed Relays at the World Cup or World Championships level.

First-ever World Championships medal for Jeanmonnot, Christiansen, Hettich-Walz

Janina Hettich-Walz won her first-ever individual medal at the World Championships in the Individual. It was also her first-ever podium.

And Andrejs Rastorgujevs won his first-ever medal in the BMW IBU World Championships, finishing second in the Mass Start.
