Athlete Ambassador Programme

In June 2023, the International Biathlon Union (IBU) and Biathlon Integrity Unit (BIU) announced the selection of new Athlete Ambassadors for the 2023-2025 period. These ambassadors serve as role models to their peers and the global Biathlon family. They have a powerful platform that can reach a broad community of fans and followers, and their voices can promote a culture that will continue to build trust and confidence in the sport of biathlon and its future.

DUAL CAREER

The IBU Executive Board approved the Dual Career Policy in June 2022 and its strategy in February 2023. The IBU aims to promote and support the athletes' preparation for their life after the biathlon career in terms of education and/or work. The goal is to raise awareness and to create opportunities for athletes to combine elite sport and education/work flexibly without compromising either objective.

IBU Academy

The IBU Academy's (IBUA) vision is to provide internationally recognized opportunities for learning, discovery, and engagement to a diverse the population of athletes, coaches, delegates, referees, and managers in a real-world setting. The IBU Academy offers a wide range of programs at the entrant and professional levels and pursues broad research and creative activities agenda. In addition, as a knowledge resource to the biathlon society, the IBU Academy builds partnerships with other educational institutions, community organizations, government agencies, and the private sector to serve the development of biathlon and impact the sports world.
