Norway’s Johannes Thingnes Boe, looked slightly vulnerable when he slipped into third position after a one-minute penalty in the second prone stage in this afternoon’s sunny and very warm men’s 20 km individual at the IBU World Championships. Yet he prevailed, cleaning the last standing stage, regaining the lead and flying to his fourth consecutive Gold medal in 49:57.5. JT with two penalties, again topped his teammate Sturla Holm Laegreid who won the Silver medal, with one penalty, 1:10.7 back. Sweden’s Sebastian Samuelsson, with two penalties completed the podium with the Bronze medal, just ,4 seconds behind Laegreid. Samuelsson’s third place today was his first-ever podium finish in the individual.
