My Go-To Song of the Season

Every biathlon fan who has attended an event knows the lyrics of 'Sweet Caroline' and knows it is the ultimate hype song for the crowd. But what is blasting through the athletes' headphones as they prepare to head to the start gate?

Juni Arnekleiv: Legendary by Welshly Arms

This song is just very motivating because lets be honest, everyone wants to win and get legendary. It wakes some fighting instinct before the races!

Here is the thing: the Norwegian team is crammed with legends. And breaking into the team is an achievement in itself. Juni Arnekleiv made the most of her first entire season in the BMW IBU World Cup in 2023/2024, collecting a career-first podium in the Sprint of Oestersund and playing a meaningful role in Norway's five relay wins. No wonder Juni finds inspiration in a hit Legendary by Welshly Army.

Yeah, we're gonna be legends

Gonna get their attention

What we're doing here ain't just scary

It's about to be legendary

Jakub Stvrtecky: Let's Go by Jaden Bojsen

I don't know exactly what makes this my go to song. I really liked it before it was viral hit, it has a good vibe and clean sound. The song is very catchy I would so.

With this winter's opening competitions in Kontiolahti just around the next corner, Jakub Stvrtecky intends to stay inspired by the summer dance beats - featuring Jaden, Bojsen, David Guetta and Sami Brielle - from ever-hot Ibiza!

Get the fuck up

We're going to Hi

Let's go

Lea Meier: C'est La Vie, Baby! by Nickless

Life isn't always perfect, but you've got to take it as it comes and make the best of it!

With Lenzerheide joining the hosts of the BMW IBU World Championships for the first time, Lea Meier has a lot to look forward to in the coming winter. She chose C'est La Vie, Baby from Nickless, as her go-to track for inspiration. Nickless is a Zurich-based singer and songwriter whose work blends personal introspection and catchy pop melodies. A perfect mix for biathlon's inevitable rollercoaster of emotions during the season!

C'est la vie, baby

And now I'm back up on my feet, baby

C'est la vie, baby

Now I found all I need in me, baby

Anika Kozica: PRAY by Coldplay

I like it because it's a cool, uplifting song with a good beat. I also spent 10 hours battling on Ticketmaster to get the tickets for their concert next summer and somehow managed them! So you bet you'll find me listening to Coldplay the whole season in preparation for the concert!

For Chris Martin, the charismatic frontman of Coldplay, the band embodies a powerful sense of community and unity—extending beyond the band itself to bridge nations, races, and religions. No wonder Anika Kozica, IBU's Sustainability Ambassador, turns to Coldplay's uplifting indie vibes in PRAY for their spark of inspiration.

And so we pray, I know somewhere that Heaven is waitin'

And so we pray, I know somewhere there's something amazin'

And so we pray, I know somewhere we'll feel no pain

Until we make it to the end of the day

Hanna-Brita Kaasik: Wildfire by Sub Focus

I found this song in September during one of our training camps, and since then, it has been in my playlist before every hard training. Powerful song!

Wildfire is actually a love song. For Hanna-Brita Kaasik from Estonia Wildfire translates into a love for biathlon (and her favourite hobbies cooking and alpine skiing).

'Cause you're my wildfire

You got me burning for your desire

We keep on going 'til the daylight

We keep on going 'til the daylight

Marcin Zawol: HEAVY by Mata

This song is by my favourite Polish rapper, who is starting to enter the international market. He says in the song that big things are coming. This motivates me because it shows that you can do big things no matter where you come from or who you are!

Marcin Zawoł finds a deep connection with Mata, the rapper from Wrocław, often hailed as the "voice of Polish youth" - as his lyrics resonate with the experiences and challenges of young people. With the road to glory, for Marcin and Mata, frequently thorny, the lyrics of HEAVY are heavy!

It's getting heavy

I don't think they're ready, nah

You'll have to get it out, get it while I do my damage

Spróbuj to, kurwo, przeżyć
