Call for applications - Mentorship Programme 2023

IBU is opening the Application Call for its 2nd edition of the Mentorship programme with focus on former female athletes.

Even so, the first Mentoring edition resulted in more women in different roles in the Biathlon Family and established a unique network; we still aim to strengthen more females to take the next steps for leadership in various positions in the future: in IBU Executive Board, NFs’ Boards and other decision-making bodies like IBU Technical Committee, Head Coaches, Chiefs of Organizing Committees, Chiefs of Competitions (World Cups, World Championships), to be an International Referee and a Technical Delegate.

Throughout the 8-month programme, delivered by IBU in partnership with SheSkillz Global, participants benefit from personal and professional development through their one-on-one mentoring journey complemented by inspirational talks, panel discussions in small groups, skills-enhancement workshops and networking events. Mentors and Mentees are matched according to shared goals, motivations, interests, professions, and answers to specific questions. Participants typically meet in smaller groups online once a month, join ‘face-to-face’ 3-4 days sessions, and participate in Gender Equality Forum in 2024.

Each NF can nominate a maximum of 2 candidates, among which, during the recruitment process, the IBU President and Secretary General approve a maximum of 20 mentees. The application process includes completing and submitting an online application by NF in IBU Scope with uploading a CV and motivation letter from the candidates no later than the 31st May 2023  (for more information International Biathlon Union - Inside IBU Mentorship (biathlonworld.com)
