Norway wins Kontiolahti's Mixed Relays

Norway won in the Mixed Relay and Single Mixed Relay on the last day of the competitions at the IBU Cup in Kontiolahti.

Nevland's last lap brings Norway Single Mixed Relay win

Karoline Erdal and Martin Nevland worked hard and had to ski one penalty loop for a win in the Single Mixed Relay. Norway was not in the lead until the last lap when Nevland’s ski speed proved too much for the closest challengers. They won in 35:34.8.

Winners' words - Norway

“It was difficult on the shooting range in very cold conditions. It felt like a roller-coaster, and luckily, we ended up as the winners,” said Erdal. “I had some problems with the reloads in my first leg, but I felt strong on the skis. Single Mixed Relay is a very intense competition. I am very pleased about the win,” added Nevland.

Winners words - Norway

"It looked easy, but it was still hard work on the shooting range and in the tracks to win this convincingly," said Emilie Kalkenberg, who took the second leg for Norway. "I simply competed to my best abilities. Let's see how my shape holds up next week in Sweden," chipped in Johan Olav Botn, who won all three competitions in Kontiolahti.
