Galmace Pauline and Dale-Skjevdal win Pursuits in Ridnaun

Voldiya Galmace Paulin of France and Johannes Dale-Skjevdal of Norway claimed victory in the Pursuit at the IBU Cup in Ridnaun-Val Ridanna. Galmace Paulin, still only 19, doubled down on her win in the Sprint, Dale-Skjevdal fought back from fifth place in the Sprint.

Galmace Paulin crossed the finish line in 29:47.5, with just one penalty, maintaining her dominance throughout the race. Norway’s Marthe Krakstad Johansen finished second, 15.3 seconds behind, missing only one target in the last standing stage. France’s Sophie Chauveau claimed third place, 19.7 seconds back, despite incurring three penalties.

I did a very well-balanced race today with 19 hits and a solid skiing time. It is amazing to win two times in a row. I like Ridnaun, which seems to be a place that suits my biathlon perfectly.

Chauveau was joined by two more French athletes in the top six, as Camille Bened finished fourth (+27.8) with two misses, while Amandine Mengin took sixth place (+43.1) with the same shooting record. Norway’s Juni Arnekleiv placed fifth, 34.2 seconds behind the winner, after two misses.

Speedy last lap brings Dale--Skjevdal a win

Dale-Skjevdal, fifth after the Sprint, crossed the finish line in 31:13.5. He incurred two penalties in the first standing stage but used his superior ski speed to overtake the surprise leader after the last shooting - the American Paul Schommer.The Total Score leader Isak Frey finished 4.2 seconds behind Dale-Skjevdal. Frey also recorded two misses but secured second place with the second fastest skiing time. Schommer rounded out the podium in third, hitting 19 of 20 targets and finishing 8.0 seconds behind the winner.

THE WINNER’S WORDS - JOHANNES DALE-SKJEVDAL

I have been struggling with my health in the past couple of weeks. Today, I felt like myself again. I had enough power in my legs to get a win in the last lap. It was a solid race and a cool win.

Sivert Guttorm Bakken, despite four penalties, took fourth place, 25.4 seconds back. France’s Oscar Lombardot finished fifth at +36.4, while Germany’s David Zobel had to settle for sixth, trailing by 46.7 seconds.
