The best junior of the 2024/2025 season comes from a country where biathlon is only a sideshow. Matija Legovic from Croatia wins the total score in the IBU Junior Cup, even though he is an individual competitor. But his passion for biathlon is helping him and his sport to grow in his home country.

Tarjei and Johannes Thingnes Boe walked away from biathlon last month, leaving an almost 20-year unmatched legacy. These two great athletes ironically both started their international careers as IBU Youth World Champions (in different years) and closed out their careers on March 23.
