167th IBU Executive Board meeting held in Salzburg

The IBU Executive Board met at the IBU Headquarters in Anif by Salzburg on 4-6 June to hear a number of key reports and updates and to discuss key items ahead of the 2023/2024 season as well as the further development of IBU’s Target 26 strategy.

The meeting was opened with a welcome by IBU President Olle Dahlin. It was followed by the President’s report and reports from other EB members and the IBU Secretary General Max Cobb.

The Biathlon Integrity Unit board met with the IBU EB to discuss the strategic direction and provide an update on its activities.

Reports were delivered on the Target 26 strategic plan for 2022-2026 following regional meetings with national federation leaders conducted mostly in person from November 2022 through May 2023. There was also an annual review of IBU Governance and Policies, Guidelines and Rules.

Department-specific reports were given across media and marketing, sport and event, development, communication and finance and administration. Among many decisions taken, the IBU EB approved the continuation of extraordinary support for NF Ukraine at the same level as the previous year. Decisions were also taken to advertise for a full-time Digital Marketing Manager and search for a person to assist with sport technical development of para-biathlon. 

Leaders of the biathlon National Federations will gather for the IBU Presidents Meeting at the end of the month in Vienna, Austria.
