When Justine Braisaz-Bouchet returned in her first World Cup competition of the winter, she was a key member in the French mixed relay to guarantee her team victory on the opening Saturday of the season. Setting the fastest ski time, shooting clean, the 27-year-old looked not only fresh, she looked transformed. After some ups and downs in the first week, the Mass Start Olympic Champion from Beijing reached her first podium since giving birth to her daughter Côme. Little did we - and she - know, that it would set her up for a triumphant final week of 2023 where she went the distance in Lenzerheide, capturing a rare sprint-pursuit-mass start triple.
"She's almost a year, she's growing so fast and I don't want to miss [a moment] - I want everything. Being a biathlete, being a mum, being a wife. Yeah."
We visited Braisaz-Bouchet in Hochfilzen and Lenzerheide to find out how she approaches her life as a top athlete - and new mother.
