Reztsova won a total of five medals at the Olympic Winter Games, including three in biathlon: gold in the 7.5 km Sprint in Albertville in 1992 and in the Women's relay in Lillehammer in 1994, and a bronze in the Women's relay in Albertville in 1992. Reztsova won two IBU World Cup Total Score titles.
"The IBU is saddened to learn that former Olympic champion Anfisa Reztsova has passed away. A two-time Olympic biathlon Champion and two-time winner of the World Cup Total Score, Reztsova was hugely passionate about biathlon and had a decorated career. The IBU’s thoughts are with Reztsova‘s family and friends at this difficult time," said the IBU.
Reztsova lived in Moscow. She was the mother of biathletes Kristina Reztsova and Daria Virolainen. Kristina won two relay medals at the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022. Daria competes for Finland.
