The year 2024 came to a close but before the season continues, we want your vote: We’ve chosen four of our favourite relays of the year but now it’s on you to choose your favourite!
Single Mixed Relay Oslo-Holmenkollen
Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen vs Sebastian Samuelsson on the home straight of Oslo-Holmenkollen? And the first Finnish podium in many years? What more could you ever ask for! This was an absolute party despite the grey Sunday afternoon.
Mixed Relay Kontiolathi
One of the greatest last loops we’re seen all year. Vebjoern Soerum cooked the rest of the field to bring Norway to its only(!) relay victory so far in the 2024/2025 season.
Men Relay NMNM
If you ever need a competition as blueprint or “it’s biathlon – anything can happen”, this is probably as good as you’re going to find. To be fair, Sweden winning a men’s relay at a big event isn’t “anything” but it was certainly the outlier with the odds stacked in favour of Norway to seal the deal. But just like in Oberhof, another team got the better of the favourites.
Women Relay Hochfilzen
A truly high-quality battle between Germany and France with Germany coming through after Julia Tannheimer and Selina Grotian held on Sophie Chauveau and Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, bringing Franziska Preuss, woman of the hour into prime position to snatch the victory from France with two rapid-fire series. It was Germany’s first Women Relay victory in almost 4 years.
Which of these 4 competitions was your favourite?
