Pokljuka is one of the best known Slovenian plateaus, as it holds world famous biathlon competitions. The plateau is mostly forested; the Šijec peat bog is interesting for its great ecological significance and providing shelter to many animals and plants. Pokljuka is a forested high karst plateau in the Julian Alps. It is the largest closed forest area in the Triglav National Park. It is 20 km long and almost as wide. In a span from 1000 to 1400 m there are around 6300 ha of forests, in which spruce prevails.
How do I get to the stadium?
Due to the limited amount of parking space in the Pokljuka area and in order to ensure sustainable development, the OC Pokljuka arranges organised shuttle transport for daily visitors, colleagues, media representatives, invited guests and accommodated visitors in the Bled and Bohinj area. How much do the daily tickets cost?
The daily tickets cost between 20€ and 32€, depending on the day of the week and whether it's a course or grandstand ticket.
Children born in the year 2011 and earlier are allowed free entrance on all days!
Where do I find the spectators' tent?
The spectators' tent is halfway between the entrance and the grandstand - you can't really miss it!
What is there to do in Bled?
The Winter Fairy tale in Bled will be open from Monday to Thursday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
The stands will offer genuine local dishes and drinks, as well as creative festive gifts. There will be a music program on weekends.
St. Nicholas', Santa Claus' and Grandfather Frost' post office will be open every day.
