Tarjei Boe skips Holmenkollen sprint due to fever

Ahead of the final weekend of his career, Norway's Tarjei Boe has come down with a fever and will skip tomorrow's men's sprint. He hopes to be back in action on Sunday for the Mass Start. Just a week ago, Johannes Thingnes Boe had to pull out of the weekend races in Pokljuka after getting sick.

"This afternoon, I was struck down with fever and a headache. This is, of course, very unfortunate, but I cannot compete in this condition. Now, I will do everything I can to be ready to start on Sunday," says Tarjei Boe, who is set to compete in his final World Cup competitions in Holmenkollen this weekend.

The decision for Tarjei Boe to sit out tomorrow's (and Saturday's) competition was made in consultation with the team management this afternoon

On Friday, the sprints will kick off the last competitions of this biathlon season, followed by the pursuits on Saturday and the Mass Starts on Sunday.
